TERMS AND CONDITIONS for the 2017 Summer School “Communication Technology and Data Analytics for Future Energy Systems”

The Summer School takes place from September 11^th, 2017 through September 15^th, 2017 and is hosted by the University of Passau in the city of Passau, Germany. The contract for participation in the Summer School is concluded between the participant and the University of Passau. Primary language for the Summer school will be English, sufficient language skills are expected for participation. Some talks may be offered in German.

Application Procedure for the Summer School

The number of participants for the summer school is limited and participants are selected through an application process.

Application was possible solely via the online application form provided on our website.

Registration is closed.

Incomplete or duplicate applications are rejected immediately. There is no legal entitlement of any kind to participation in the summer school.

Acceptance of Participants and Payment Conditions

Successful applicants are being offered a place for the summer school via email, containing further information and payment details. The applicant can accept this offer solely by paying the total amount due for the participation fee within 7 banking days after the respective offer has been sent out (receipt of payment on organisers' bank account as stated within payment details). The only accepted method of payment is bank transfer.

If payment is not received within the period stated above or if payment is incomplete, the offer for a place in the summer school can be revoked without further reminder or notice. Reception of payment and acceptance of the applicant for the summer school will be confirmed via email with an invoice and confirmation of payment.

Participation Fee

The participation fee for the Summer School is €180.

The participation fee includes (from Monday September 11^th through Friday September 15^th 2017):

Participation in talks, workshops and practical sessions
Access to summer school materials
Lunch and coffee breaks
Participation in the Summer School dinner (held on one evening only)

Travel and Accommodation (NOT INCLUDED)

The participation fee DOES NOT include travel cost, local transportation fares or any accommodation expenses. Organisation and booking of travel and accommodation as well as fulfilment of EU / German entry regulations and other legal requirements (visa, insurance etc.) falls within the sole responsibility of participants.

Please note that there is only limited accommodation capacity available in the city of Passau, especially during summer months. A limited number of special rates / pre-reserved rooms for summer school participants may be available but cannot be guaranteed for. Participants will receive a special-rate code (if available) and information about recommended accommodations with their acceptance notice. Please NOTE THAT any contracts concerning travel or accommodation of summer school participants are concluded solely between the participant and the respective companies.

Cancellation Policy

There is no refund of the participation fee in case of cancellation by the participant after June 2^nd.
